Today I had some fun learning Swedish and was amazed at how similar the Germanic languages can be.
I've made a list of words I've learned today as follows:
Ligga - Liegen(DE) → Be located
Knacka- Knock(EN)
Dörr - Door (EN)
Lyssna - Listen(EN)
Fönster - Fenster(DE) →Window
Gå - Gehen(DE)→Go
Lyfta - Lift(EN)
Säga - Sagen(DE)→Say
Öppna - Öffnen(DE)→Open
The list will continue as my studies progress.

good post... I love the Germanic languages. One day, when I become fluent in German I would like to learn anything from Swedish to Danish to Icelandic... anyway, I'm not nearly as advanced as you are. Keep it up! I love languages too!

Anyway, I'm glad you've been probably been reading my blog and want to keep on writing about what the Lord has been teaching me. About learning German, I recommend you a podcast called "Jesustreff Stuttgart" and also "Deutsche im Alltag", which have helped me not only give a boost in my German but also keep it fluent.
